Swan Lake I & II

The 120 acres of Swan Lake Iris Gardens is a very special place in Sumter, SC. which appeared in 1927 as a private fishing retreat.  "Swan Lake I" features Black Neck Swans abiding on one side of Liberty Street.  "Swan Lake II" captures Black Swans with their babies (called cygnets) on the other.  An enclosed walkabout bridge with elevators connects  the two sides.   As I pursued this fascinating area and its vibrant life, a pair of paintings revealed themselves to me.  I also made sure to be there when the babies hatched too.  I'm especially drawn to some of more private hidden spots where spiritual perception is amplified.  And I must say, although the wildlife and flowers are interactive and awesome, those cypress knees are the bomb!  They're like successions of animate statue creatures.
